Fine Arts Portfolio Development
By Cassie LeBlanc
Rationale
For a fine arts educator at the high school level, it is important to be knowledgeable of the requirements and expectations for students who wish to enter a fine arts program in College or University. A fine arts teacher can extend their knowledge and effectively contribute to the success of their students by helping grade 12 students develop an entry level professional fine arts portfolio. By researching various approaches and resources for portfolio development, students in fine arts programs at James Fowler high school will gain an in-depth understanding of creating a portfolio for a post-secondary education. |
Statement of Focus
The purpose of this project is to inquire about the specific documents needed in the preparation of a professional fine art portfolio. This project will result in the creation of a step by step portfolio development web resource as well as exemplars of the different fine art portfolios for the grade 12 James Fowler High School students. This project will also assist in ideas and approaches for future fine arts portfolio development at James Fowler High School. Through preparing and sharing fine art portfolio exemplars the students will also learn about documenting their work using modern fine art documentation practices. For my PD project I will inquire about the major requirements needed in a fine art portfolio to gain entry into a post-secondary institution. |
